Typing suggestions in your chat apps — and proactive suggestions that explain themselves

Suggestions while you type

When you reply in a watched chat app, a few completion candidates now appear next to the input box as you type: pick one with a number key, accept with Tab, or just keep typing and they disappear.
The input box gets a subtle outline with the recognised conversation name beside it — so you can confirm it has the right person before accepting (requires the latest device version).

A suggestion card is no longer a bare one-liner. It now says what it noticed, what it suggests you do, and why it's worth doing now — expandable for more detail, so you never have to guess which thing it means.
In hint mode, pressing Tab now inserts the draft straight into your input box (it used to jump you to the settings page).
New "Suggestion log" in settings: review what was suggested recently and whether you took it.
First-run setup is now a full-screen, three-step walkthrough. The app picker lists your installed apps with icons, sorted by most recently used — no more typing app names by hand. Settings uses the same picker, and you can drag a .app straight in.
The whole Proactive Engine settings page has been rebuilt, with the jargon replaced by plain language.

Dismiss a single item, or bulk-clear everything that's gone stale or is already done. Cleared items don't come back and aren't counted again.
To-dos now correctly show who asked you and what the prepared draft looks like (previously the whole page read "Unknown contact / No draft" — requires the latest device version).

New toggle (Settings → Proactive Engine): when on, the work context it observes on screen is distilled into long-term memory, so later conversations can pick up where things left off. On by default while the Proactive Engine is enabled; you can turn it off any time.
What it saw on screen and what you told it yourself are labelled separately — the two never get mixed up.

The memory page is now grouped by domain: drill down level by level, or change which domain a memory belongs to. Anything unclassified is collected at the bottom for you to sort out.

Each conversation is now tagged by origin — started by you, triggered by a proactive suggestion, from the Office add-in, or from a scheduled task.

New certificate helper: if the add-in won't open because its certificate expired, one click in settings fixes it, and it renews automatically on every launch from now on (previously a manual reinstall).
Fixed PowerPoint actions failing across the board due to a name mismatch.

Mac: fixed a ~30-second hang on macOS 26 every time the current window was identified.
Device Wi-Fi setup: fixed wrapped buttons and long network names overflowing the dialog in narrow windows.
Floating bar: on Windows it no longer sticks to the cursor after snapping to the top edge; the background badge now follows your language setting.
Preview panel tabs survive a restart; fixed local file paths opening incorrectly and PowerPoint charts not rendering.
Cancelling a scheduled task now actually stops it.
Windows: opening an app whose name contains $ no longer fails.
Thinking-effort levels now reflect what each model actually supports, so you can't pick one that does nothing.
Removed the defunct "HTTP API service" status block from settings.
